Q. Besides an intro kit, what items do I need to start my business?
A. A calculator, a date book, and your enthusiasm
Q. Is there a quota on sales or number of workshops per month?
A. Discovery Toys does not require a regular monthly quota. In order to remain active, you only need to place $100 in orders every six months.
Q. What commission will I earn?
A. New Consultants earn 20% - 28% commission.
Q. Are there bonuses for achieving sales levels per month?
A. Yes, Consultants that submit sales of $1,250 or more receive a bonus of 8%. Consultants who submit sales of $100 or more receive a bonus of 5%.
Q. Are there territories?
A. No, you may sponsor a new recruit and sell Discovery Toys products anywhere in the United States.
Q. Will I be required to deliver orders or keep inventory?
A. No, all orders are shipped to the Hostess unless a customer selects a direct shipment to her home. No, you do not need to keep inventory.
Q. May I purchase additional items for my personal collection or to add to my kit?
A. Yes, new consultants receive a 20-28% discount on all of her future purchases.
Q. Will I be considered an employee of Discovery Toys?
A. No, you are self-employed and responsible for collecting the state sales tax and submitting it to Discovery Toys.
Q. Who pays for the Hostess Program?
A. Discovery Toys supplies us with one of the richest Hostess plans in the direct sales industry and absorbs the cost of the ½ off price and the free shopping spree on her sales.
Q. Are there tax advantages?
A. Yes, there are many tax deductions that you are able to claim because you are considered “self-employed”. We suggest that you consult with an accountant who specializes in direct sales for the best advice.
Q. Will I be able to move up into management if I choose to do so?
A. Yes. Everyone who has the desire will be able to move up the ladder at his/her own pace. A Group Manager or above earns up to 35% commission on his/her personal sales and up to 13% on her team sales.
Q. Will I be kept up to date on new items, programs, etc?
A. Yes. We have a great support system located on the web as well as a monthly newsletter and training meetings available on a consistent basis.
Q. Are the items guaranteed?
A. Yes. Discovery Toys have a lifetime guarantee.
Q. Are there shipping and handling charges?
A. Yes. As with most companies, there is a charge to ship.
Q. What does the training consist of?
A. The best training comes from your recruiter and/or upline manager/director with company support as well. There are lots of training calls and info available on the Consultant website.
